Demonstrators

CHOICE OF DEMONSTRATOR LOCATIONS

In order to more widely demonstrate the efficiency of the “Phytobarre” process, the project foresees setting up demonstrators in several geographic areas and under different utilization and crop conditions.

The experimental station “La Pugère”, a partner in this project, will host the paired demonstrator (lagooning systems with or without added bacteria).

Three other demonstrators will be installed on multi-crop farms:

  • The G.A.E.C. Les Oliviers, is located in the Alpes de Haute Provence within the municipality of Lurs (altitude 420 m), in the Luberon Regional Natural Park.
  • The E.A.R.L. Les Lesques, located in the Vaucluse within the municipality of Cucuron (altitude 300 m), in the Luberon Regional Natural Park.
  • The farm of the Louis Giraud campus (an agricultural high school, center for vocational training and agricultural promotion, and apprentice training center) in Serres (altitude 85 m), near Carpentras at the foot of the Mont Ventoux.

The industrial partner (Barre Company, in Clairac, Lot-et-Garonne) is responsible for the design and production of the demonstrators. This company takes into account the specific parameters of each installation site, in order to size and produce the prototypes necessary to carry out the project.

THE LA PUGÈRE PAIRED DEMONSTRATOR

The La Pugère demonstrator is comprised of two sets of three basins. The two series of basins are connected to an existing washing area on the farm.

One basin series is seeded with a collection of photosynthetic bacteria (seeded series). The second is not seeded (control series). The effluents are shared between the two basin series. The La Pugère demonstrator is referred to as ‘paired’.
